Zach’s highlight reel
Seattle Mariners at Toronto Blue Jays
Saturday, Oct. 8, The Mariners had a 1-0 lead in this best of 3 game series, and the Blue Jays were trying to escape elimination.
In the top of the 2nd inning the Blue Jays and Mariners were tied 0-0. Pitcher Kevin Gausman threw an 86 mph splitter which jumped off of Adam Frazier’s bat. Almost as soon as the ball was hit, Shortstop Bo Bichette made a leap into the air and put an end to what surely would have been a base hit.
The Mariners would go on to eliminate the Bluejays 10-9.
Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings
Sunday, Oct. 9, The Bears were trailing 21-3 with a little under 2 minutes left in the first half and desperately needed a big play to get some momentum.
With an empty back field, quarterback Justin Fields took the snap and looked to his left for receiver Darnell Mooney.
Mooney was absolutely smothered by the Vikings Defense, but Fields threw a jump ball to him anyways. Somehow, Mooney was able to catch the ball one handed.
Mooney’s catch led to a Bears touchdown, but it wasn’t enough as the Vikings went on to beat the Bears 29-22.
