Zach’s Highlight Reel
United States vs. Iran
Tuesday, Nov. 29 — Facing elimination, the United States needed a win to advance to the knockout stage of the World Cup. The U.S. team was aggressive early on and in the 38th minute scored a crucial goal off of the leg of Christian Pulisic. During the goal, Pulisic collided with the Iranian goalie and left the game with an abdominal injury. Iran would make the game interesting with what looked like a late goal, but it was called offside. The U.S. was able to hold on and advance to the knockout round of the world cup, winning 1-0.
Iowa State Cyclones at TCU Horned Frogs
Saturday, Nov. 26 — When a team punts the ball, they usually snap it to the punter. Sometimes teams might snap it to an up-back if they are trying some sort of fake punt. However, snapping the ball to a referee usually isn’t the plan. That’s why when the Iowa State long snapper snapped the ball over the head of the punter and hit the referee, it surprised everyone. The punter’s only option was to dive on the ball to prevent the defense from picking it up and scoring. This play ultimately gave the Horned Frogs a short field and they were able to capitalize with a touchdown. TCU went on to beat Iowa State 62-14.
